We’re looking for our next Senior Residential Mortgage Underwriter. Could it be you?

The role is responsible for the full credit adjudication process from decisioning mortgage applications based on established lending criteria along with the review and fulfillment of the mortgage conditions. This includes exception management, pricing determinations, and documentation review and acceptance, all while meeting performance targets and ensuring adherence to service standards.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  1. Successfully contribute to the Residential Lending results, ensuring growth and profitability targets are being met.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Community Trust residential mortgage underwriting policies, procedures, and products.
  3. Negotiate, structure, and evaluate received mortgage applications according to internal policies.
  4. Manage portfolio risk by exercising consistent, objective, and sound credit decisions within authorized limits, escalating with rationale to support recommendation where appropriate.
  5. Issue mortgage commitments with appropriate conditions.
  6. Review and decide mortgage documentation to ensure each document is complete and accurate based on Community Trust’s credit policies, procedures, and anti-money laundering requirements.
  7. Instruct files to FCT and work together with Residential Funding to ensure timely closings.
  8. Partner with Partner Experience to deliver top-tier experience to our partners.
  9. Collaborate with Credit Quality Assurance and Funding teams to meet targets.
  10. Maintain knowledge of industry trends and market conditions.
  11. Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with company standards.
  12. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  13. Follow AML procedures on all files with emphasis on “Know Your Client” rules.
  14. Proactively identify violations of AML regulations and internal policies, conduct inquiries, and ensure timely corrective actions or escalation.
  15. Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls.
  16. Manage tasks and cases to meet Service Level Agreements.
