A leading university is seeking a Senior Research Technician to conduct specialized laboratory experiments and analyze data. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related science and experience in laboratory settings. Responsibilities include maintaining accuracy in experiments and making protocol decisions. This role requires strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a potentially hazardous environment.
The Allen Discovery Center is dedicated to the advancement of basic biology and biomedicine, and to using an integrated approach to control biological structure and function. Through a combination of molecular genetics, biophysics, and computational approaches, researchers at the Center work toward a multi-level control of patterning. Novel technology is being developed to modulate the bioelectric communication that enables cells to coordinate their activities toward specific anatomical and functional outcomes. This new type of epigenetic control has significant implications for developmental biology, evolution, unconventional computation, and synthetic bioengineering. Applications in progress include the repair of birth defects, regenerative medicine, cancer reprogramming, and synthetic biology.
The Senior Research Technician conducts a variety of routine and specialized laboratory experiments with accuracy. The Senior Research Technician also performs specialized techniques and makes decisions regarding the appropriate protocol or procedure necessary to achieve desired results, the reliability and accuracy of results, and whether modification or repetition is necessary. Records test results and analyzes data derived from experiments.
