Job description
Overview

About The Role Senior Research Fellow (Child Health Services Research) at UNSW. This is a full-time, 2-year fixed-term contract based in Randwick, Sydney NSW. Visa sponsorship is available for this position.

Location: Randwick Clinical Campus, Sydney NSW.

  • Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours per week)
  • Duration: 2-year fixed-term contract
  • Remuneration: Level C $155k - $178k base + 17% Superannuation + Annual Leave Loading
  • Work rights required: Visa sponsorship is available for this position
Responsibilities
  • Make independent and synergistic contributions to child health research within the Population Child Health (PCH) Research Group at UNSW.
  • Contribute to high-quality publications and competitive grant acquisition.
  • Develop meaningful partnerships aimed at improving health service delivery and health outcomes for children and young people.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, health services, policymakers, academic partners, and provide mentorship to students, groups and colleagues.
  • Show leadership and initiative in driving research strategy, collaboration, and outcomes; contribute to translational health services and health systems research.
  • Report to the Professor; there are no direct reports.
Qualifications
  • A PhD in health services research, epidemiology, psychology or non-lab-based child health research.
  • Proven commitment to staying up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated track record in research with high quality and high impact, with evidence of leadership and ability to achieve research excellence.
  • Experience in translation intervention research is preferred.
  • Proven ability to generate grant income.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
