Position Purpose

Works at a senior level. Responsible for overseeing lab operations for portfolios of ongoing research projects and/or major research projects. Independently conducts and coordinates complex projects. Devise new procedures and experimental techniques requiring an understanding of associated technical fields in engineering or the sciences.

Responsibilities
  • Designs and implements research programs.
  • Leads a team of researchers and students to achieve research objectives.
  • Oversees the setup and operation of experiments, ensuring proper supervision and support.
  • Ensures timely recording, analysis, and dissemination of results.
  • Manages research grants according to university and sponsor requirements.
  • Seeks new research opportunities and contributes to developing new projects and proposals.
Qualifications
  • PhD in a relevant discipline with at least five years of independent research experience, or MSc with 5-7 years of relevant work experience. Some roles may require more extensive experience or specialized training.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Judgment in selecting protocols and adapting procedures as needed.
  • Computer skills for research, analysis, and data presentation.
  • Strong interpersonal, technical, scientific, and communication skills (written and oral).
