Description

Our Release QA team in Burnaby, comprising over 130 staff, is responsible for ensuring Fortinet products meet high standards before market release. We are currently recruiting for teams focused on QA activities for our FortiOS, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiClient products.

Technical Job Duties:
  1. Execute regression testing on products using manual and automated testing techniques. Create, maintain, and execute test specifications and test cases.
  2. Write and maintain automation scripts.
  3. Identify, document, and track software defects found during testing.
  4. Work closely with developers to ensure defects are correctly identified and fixed.
Writing Job Duties:
  1. Collaborate with Developers, QA, Product Managers, and others to understand new features, use cases, and customer scenarios.
  2. Document and publish release notes, user guides, reference materials, and use case scenarios for new product releases.
Job Experience Required:
  • 4+ years of software testing experience.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with Virtual machine environments, e.g., VMware / ESXi, Hypervisor.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, Linux, Sniff, or Ethereal.
  • Strong knowledge of IPSec, SSL VPN, data encryption, and authentication.
  • Familiarity with QA procedures and methodologies, as well as software development fundamentals.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi access points, routers, wireless extenders, and AP controllers.
  • Understanding of wireless technology & standards (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and Wi-Fi Alliance.
  • Experience with wireless test tools (Veriwave, IXIA Chariot) and wireless frame capture & debuggers (Wireshark, Omnipeek).
  • Skills in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting PC/server software and hardware in Windows and Unix environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software logically and analytically.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to handle tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to write clear, reproducible problem reports and test results.
  • Scripting skills (shell, TCL, PERL, Python) are assets.
  • Knowledge of databases and JSON API are assets.
Educational Requirement:
  • Degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or related field.

The salary range for this full-time position in Canada is approximately $92,000 - $112,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
