Senior Release Analyst
This is a hybrid role #LI-Hybrid
Reporting to the Manager, Release, this position is accountable to run the full process of the Release Management Lifecycle which includes planning, prioritizing, scheduling of releases for multiple applications across several portfolios using your technical skillsets including: application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system.
You will partner with the business and development teams to establish enhancements, improvements, and updates within the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD / CI) pipeline. You will also be accountable for gating our Non-PROD environments to ensure consistency and accuracy across our landscapes.
The salary range for this role is $73,027 to $127,554
About the Role
Release Management – (50%)
- Manage Release activities within information technology (IT) tasks and staff.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect the release scope, schedule, and quality.
- Forward-plan the release windows and cycles across the company.
- Coordinate the Risk and Impact Analysis phase of the release and create a release plan based on the assessment information.
- Have knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Use CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.) and version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, etc.) to maintain release artifacts and ensure accuracy.
- Communicate all important release plans, statuses, commitments, and changes, including requirements, Quality Assurance (QA) plans, schedule, and scope changes.
- Maintain familiarity with current and upcoming IT equipment, services, and other developments.
- Work with Quality Assurance (QA), Development, DevOps, and Product teams to ensure that development projects follow the release process and change procedure guidelines.
- Communicate with regulatory bodies.
- Provide end-to-end oversight of release delivery and lead required release management activities.
- Facilitate the Release Go/No-Go meetings, readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and provide regular status updates to all team members.
- Maintain the release schedule.
- Work with management to make improvements in the release process.
- Manage functional and non-functional releases.
Collaboration – (40%)
- Provides direction for the quality assurance and release planning team to meet all LCBO needs.
- Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks.
- Coordinate and communicate test plans and progress of new solutions to ensure the performance and interface into enterprise systems meet functional requirements and technical specifications.
- Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone reviews, and business GO/NO-GO reviews.
- Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities.
- Maintain the release schedule for all important services and ensure understanding across key partners and vendors.
- Train, coach, and mentor release stakeholders to achieve industry best practices for release management/governance.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
- Reset priorities and take corrective action as required.
Audit and Compliance – (10%)
- Responsible for mitigation of all audit gaps as identified by annual audits.
- Assist with compliance audits and remediation of PCI and Security Standards as identified by the business.
- Participate in the ongoing quarterly reviews of all applications for PCI and Security.
About you
- College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related area.
- 5 - 7 years of total experience in the IT industry.
- Experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development. A range of skills required: software development and programming, systems analysis, database systems and design.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate work teams toward task completion.
- Working knowledge of Cloud computing technology platforms (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)).
- Working knowledge of CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.) and Version Control Systems (Git, Bitbucket, etc.).
- Experience staying current in the mobile and web development space, understanding of cloud computing.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban.
- Good project management skills and substantial exposure to project-based work structures with experience implementing Agile project management methodologies and test-driven development processes.
- Knowledge of system testing metrics, best practices, and methodologies.
Preferred:
- Certification in DevOps tools, practices, and methodologies.
- Certification in Cloud computing (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)).
