About the Role:

The Senior Reinsurance Manager for Everest Insurance Company of Canada will report to the Assistant Vice President at Everest Insurance Company of Canada.

As a key member of the Finance team, the Senior Reinsurance Manager will be responsible for certain processes in the monthly and quarterly close including but not limited to the reinsurance treaties and appropriate accounting, analyzing and communication regarding same.

Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Responsible for financial reporting and settlement of third party and affiliated reinsurance activity.

  • Prepare reconciliations and analysis to support the quarterly and annual financial statements.

  • Assist with the coordination and completion of annual external audits.

  • Prepare schedules and components of the financial regulatory returns and other filings as directed.

  • Assist and support the AVP of Finance and other members of the team.

  • Responsible for gross and ceded claims transactional data and posting accounting entries.

  • Ad-hoc projects as and when required.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant, CPA or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Qualified accountant, CPA or equivalent.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills.

  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proven P&C accounting experience.

  • Understanding of IFRS 17 statements.
