Job summary

Dass Rebar in Vaughan, Ontario is seeking a Senior Estimator – Rebar to oversee the estimating process for project bids, read plans, coordinate with project teams and manage handoffs on successful bids.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of rebar estimating experience, strong communication skills, proficiency in ASA estimating software, Blue Beam and MS Office, and excellent organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of rebar estimating experience.
• Expert ability to read and understand construction drawings and addenda.
• Proven knowledge with estimating systems, bid preparation and execution.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) and Blue Beam.
• Experience with ASA estimating software is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and focused.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the estimating process for all project bids.
• Continuously hunt for new project opportunities, tenders and prequalifications.
• Coordinate with project team to confirm full scope.
• Establish estimating standards for future estimates based on best practices.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Build estimates and perform quantity takeoffs.
• Manage project handoff on successful bids.
• Assist with project planning and estimating change orders.
