Job summary

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) is seeking a Legal Counsel to support the Real Estate Management & Litigation Team with commercial real estate due diligence, conveyancing, and acquisition/disposition transactions for the Government’s portfolio.

You will provide risk management advice, ensure compliance with MOI and OILC Act, review file documents, and deliver litigation support to IO’s business units. It’s a fast-paced environment with rolling interviews and a commitment to an inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• University degree in Law (LLB or JD) and Ontario law license.
• Experience in commercial real estate transactions, title reviews or land development.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain legal concepts to non-lawyers.
• Proven negotiation and drafting skills for complex real estate agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on commercial real estate matters to IO executives and units.
• Advise on MOI Act and OILC Act applications and related regulations.
• Review documents, assess options, obtain approvals and support strategy.
• Ensure compliance with current legislation and IO policies.
• Provide litigation support to IO business units.
