Job summary

Aon is seeking a Senior Real Assets Consultant to join our Real Assets team in Canada. You will advise institutional clients on real assets investments, lead investment research, and manage client relationships end-to-end.

The role emphasizes strategic guidance, due diligence, and developing policy recommendations. As a senior consultant, you will deliver client reports and presentations, drive opportunities, and contribute to thought leadership through white papers and conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (advanced degree or CFA/MBA preferred).
• 5–10 years in private markets fund investing, principal investing, or related experience.
• Strong understanding of investment concepts, especially Private Markets and financial markets.
• Deep knowledge and contacts within Real Assets.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to autonomously manage multiple projects, follow guidelines, and meet deadlines.
• Good judgment and ability to make decisions with incomplete information.
• Strong analytical skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver investment research area work and client projects without supervision.
• Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned institutional clients, advising on real assets strategy and implementation.
• Prepare and deliver client reports, presentations, and educational materials.
• Develop and present investment policy recommendations, portfolio construction strategies, and market outlooks.
• Lead research and recommendations for real asset investment opportunities.
• Identify new investment opportunities and present to the Aon Investment Committee.
• Oversee performance of existing investments.
• Provide leadership contributing to the success of the practice/research area.
• Identify and lead industry research projects and white papers.
• Drive internal and external business development initiatives.
• Contribute as a specialist consultant to RFPs and client presentations.

The Senior Consultant will provide strategic guidance, conduct manager due diligence, and help clients achieve their investment objectives.

What The Day Will Look Like

Coordinate various consulting projects in the tangible resources sector, connect with managers, and analyze investments.

• Lead and deliver investment research area work and client projects without supervision.
• Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned institutional clients, providing advice on real assets strategy and implementation.
• Prepare and deliver client reports, presentations, and educational materials.
• Develop and present investment policy recommendations, portfolio construction strategies, and market outlooks.
• Lead the research and recommendations for real asset investment opportunities.
• Identify new investment opportunities, and present to Aon Investment Committee.
• Lead all aspects of the performance of existing investments.
• Provide leadership that contributes to the success of a practice/research area.
• Identify and lead creative industry research projects and white papers
• Drive internal and external business development initiatives.
• Contribute as a specialist consultant to the completion of RFP’s and presentations for business development opportunities with prospective clients

How This Opportunity Is Different

The Senior Consultant is responsible for leading efforts to educate clients and develop strategic plans. They will coordinate program implementation and reporting. They will also build relationships in the real assets community by speaking at conferences and writing white papers.

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success
