Currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Analysis who specializes in Mechanical Design Analysis, providing technical and operational leadership, having superior client relations skills and a proven ability to deliver major assignments.

Location: Mississauga, ON

Your role within the team

As a member of Reactor Components - Analysis team, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

1. Lead a team to complete the design analysis of CANDU reactor components, systems and structures including Mechanical equipment.
2. Engineering calculations to support design nuclear pressure boundary components.
3. Preparation of formal technical reports.
4. Review of design documents, calculations, and analysis reports.
5. Execute engineering activities within budget and schedule.
6. Provide accurate reporting of engineering work to technical and project managers.
7. Provide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering-related matters.
8. Perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/CANDU Energy Quality Assurance programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements.
9. Coordinate and interface with client, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines or departments to execute assigned engineering work.

The ideal candidate

1. A bachelor's or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a university of recognized standing.
2. Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
3. At least 8-10 years of related work experience in the field of design and analysis of complex mechanical systems or equipment (knowledge of CANDU nuclear systems would be an asset).
4. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
5. Ability to work independently and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
6. Strong written and oral communication skills.
7. Experience in the interpretation of GD&T is preferred.
8. Experience in classical stress calculation.
9. Experience in finite element analysis using ANSYS/LS-DYNA/ABAQUS.
10. Familiarity with ASME Section III, VIII Div 2 pressure boundary design and CSA N285.0.
11. Knowledge of programming skills in MATLAB/VBA/Python.
12. Drive for continuous learning by own initiative.
13. Good time management skills.
