Job summary

LGM North America is seeking a Senior RAMS Engineer to autonomously lead RAMS study work packages for major industrial projects in Canada. You will define RAMS strategy, lead activities across the V-cycle, and ensure alignment with safety and maintenance goals.

You will perform RAMS analyses (FHA, HAZID/HAZOP, FMEA, FTA) and ensure deliverables meet project milestones, contributing to robust reliability and performance across rail and aerospace domains.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent in systems, mechanical, electrical, electronics or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in aerospace or railway.
  • Experience in a Lead / technical reference role on complex projects.
  • Strong command of RAMS and safety methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Define RAMS strategy aligned with contractual, regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Lead RAMS activities across the full V-cycle (design, development, validation, commissioning, operations).
  • Define and allocate RAMS requirements to subsystems and perform RAMS analyses (FHA/HAZID/HAZOP, FMEA/FMECA, FTA).
  • Conduct reliability, availability, and maintainability studies (RBD, LCC, MTBF, MTTR).
  • Ensure RAMS consistency with safety, maintenance and operations; support certifications and audits.
  • Participate in technical reviews; deliver clear, structured documentation for stakeholders.

To support our strong growth, we are looking for a Senior RAMS Engineer, autonomous and capable of leading the execution of complex RAMS study work packages on behalf of our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Define the project RAMS strategy in line with contractual, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  • Lead RAMS activities throughout the entire V-cycle (design, development, validation, commissioning, operations).
Engineering & Technical Analyses
  • Define and manage RAMS requirements and their allocation to subsystems.
  • Perform or supervise the following analyses:
  • FHA / HAZID / HAZOP
  • FMEA / FMECA
  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
  • Reliability, availability, and maintainability analyses (RBD, LCC, MTBF, MTTR)
  • Ensure consistency between RAMS, safety, maintenance, and operations.
  • Contribute to the definition of maintenance concepts and operational performance objectives.
Compliance & Certification
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Prepare and validate RAMS deliverables for project milestones and audits.
  • Support certification and acceptance processes (ISA, authorities, client).
Interface & communication
  • Actively participate in technical and design reviews.
  • Produce clear, structured deliverables that can be used by non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Provide decision-making support to project management (risks, technical trade-offs).
Profile:
Education & Experience
  • Engineering degree or equivalent in systems, mechanical, electrical, electronics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in aerospace or railway.
  • Experience in a Lead / technical reference role on complex projects.
Technical Skills
  • Excellent command of RAM and safety methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of systems architecture (

  • Experience with RAMS tools.
