Job summary
Hitachi Rail Canada Inc. in Toronto is seeking a Senior Signaling Design Specialist to lead system design and signaling development for CBTC projects. You will perform modelling, data definition, and requirements analysis to meet customer specifications.
The role requires 4–10 years in software-based system applications, strong SDLC knowledge, and experience with signaling standards. It includes mentoring juniors and collaborating with software, hardware, and IVVQ teams.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, methods, and tools.
- Knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC).
- Medium-level expertise in URS (Urban Rail Signaling) Systems.
- Experience mentoring other engineers.
Responsibilities
- Performs system/signaling design, analysis, modelling, and simulation to specify CBTC systems.
- Develops block design, interlocking data, and database for software subsystems.
- Ensures signaling design complies with applicable standards and safety principles.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to work-package estimates and descriptions.
