We are looking for a Business Generation Coordinator to join our team in Canada.

Who are you?

You are either an experienced Quantity Surveyor with 8+ years post-graduate experience or a growing intermediate professional with between 3-8 years of experience, looking for the next step or have undertaken a similar role in a similar environment.

Key Accountabilities
  • Performs site physical progress measurement, including verification and validation of quantities.
  • Prepares and submits interim valuations.
  • Manages, evaluates, and certifies variations/change orders.
  • Identifies potential risks and evaluates options for control.
  • Completes internal and external reporting throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Works closely with field staff and contractors.
  • Streamlines the progress measurement process on site.
  • Establishes Rules of Credit for each sub-component.
  • Develops progress reporting systems.
  • Administers and coordinates all types of construction and development projects, including contracts and sub-contracts, construction progress schedules, cost control systems, and work measurements.
  • Provides advice on construction cost and strategic planning to management and other project stakeholders.
  • Interprets tender documents, specifications, general conditions, and other areas of the contract and forms of contracts.
  • Prepares and submits estimates for construction and development work.
  • Researches, negotiates, and supports dispute resolution activities.
  • Understands and provides input to the engineering and commercial aspects of multiple sub projects.
  • Provides advice on contractual claims and negotiations.
  • Monitors contract compliance against requirements.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or Business Administration.
  • PQS (Professional Quantity Surveyor) designation is preferred, or the willingness and ability to obtain the same; Active member of CIQS (Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveying) or RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors).
  • Degree in Engineering such as Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in large capital project management.
  • Preferred experience in Database Management.
  • Conversant with the planning and design of equipment/material procurement and construction processes required to deliver major capital projects.
  • Expert knowledge of construction costs and contracts.
  • Strong business and market acumen related to the construction industry.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Inspires trust in challenging situations, navigating ambiguity adeptly.
