Job summary

OSI Maritime Systems in Burnaby seeks a QC Inspector to validate outputs, inspect incoming materials, in-process and final assemblies, and maintain detailed QC records. You will ensure high outgoing quality and collaborate with the Purchasing team on supplier quality management, prioritizing tasks to meet production schedules.

The role requires a university degree or technical diploma, 10+ years in QA/QC, ISO 9001 experience, and strong analytical/communication skills.

Qualifications

• Recognized degree, diploma, or technologist with priority for QA/QC, methods or process engineering
• Direct experience in Marine/Shipbuilding or Military fields is highly beneficial
• 10+ years in a Quality Engineering or QC inspection role
• QMS auditor certification to ISO 9001:2015 or similar, with knowledge of QA fundamentals and documentation
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex hardware drawings and communicate clear QC results

Responsibilities

• Ensure overall outgoing quality of OSI products and incoming materials inspection
• Carry out manufacturing test inspections and RMA processing to support production scheduling
• Record all QC findings accurately in QC databases and records
• Identify non-conformities, recommend remedies, and drive corrective actions with suppliers
• Lead MRB meetings, quarantine non-conforming items, and report status to management
• Coordinate with Purchasing to manage supplier defects and SCAR lifecycle
• Travel to supplier or customer sites for autonomous quality assessments as needed
