Job description

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join the BMCC (Brand, Marketing, Communications, & Citizenship) Tech team. You will be part of an agile development team working with a broad range of technologies and products. Your responsibilities will include planning, executing, and tracking manual and automated testing for web, mobile, and back-end applications. You will conduct functional and non-functional testing (including Performance & Accessibility), develop test automation strategies, and execute test automation suites. Collaboration, innovation, and flexibility are key in this role.

You will work on diverse projects within a cross-functional team that includes Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, QA Engineers, and UI/UX Designers. You will have access to subject matter experts, coaching, training, and resources, reporting to the Senior Manager of Quality Engineering for BMCC Tech.

We lead digital tool development to enhance collaboration.

What will you do?
  • Provide QE estimates and deliver on the book of work within timelines
  • Define testing scope and approach based on user stories and requirements
  • Support and execute product testing aligned with RBC QE standards
  • Document test results and log defects
  • Communicate defects and status reports to stakeholders
  • Manage test cases, defects, and reporting using JIRA, Confluence, and qTest
  • Develop, improve, and maintain automated test scripts using RBC's Test Automation Framework
  • Identify and report concerns around functionality, performance, and other inconsistencies
Must-have
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, focusing on automated testing across various environments (cloud, distributed, mainframe, APIs, databases)
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Robot Framework, SoapUI, Postman, Selenium, UFT, RestAssured, TestNG)
  • Proficiency with development/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Pandas, Numpy) and 5+ years with Python
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with database technologies (MongoDB, DB2, Oracle, SQL, IMS, Teradata)
  • Experience with Agile methodology, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Nice-to-have
  • QA certifications (e.g., CSTE, CSQA, ISTQB)
  • Degree/diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Mobile Automation (Appium, Perfecto)
  • Experience in Microservice testing, performance testing, accessibility testing
  • Test case optimization experience (e.g., ConformIQ, Hexawise, MAGiX)
