You Are
We are looking for a hands-on Sr. Quality Engineer with a strong background in Data Engineering and applied Machine Learning, responsible for validating end-to-end AI solutions and data pipelines.
You’ll be part of a team working on GenAI Initiatives, testing systems that orchestrate models, tools and data into intelligent, context-aware pipelines.
The Opportunity
- Hybrid: In office/remote
- Implement and champion best practices in Quality engineering, supporting the implementation of the QE Program and overall QE process and standards through continuous test preparation and execution, leveraging an engineering mindset created by practicing deep, technical and domain expertise.
- Responsible for reviewing requirements and business functions
- Creating and maintaining end to end test automation frameworks on-prem and in cloud using Python.
- Responsible for designing the effective automated test frameworks and data-driven execution approach and test design techniques, suggesting and implementing improvements to the test automation processes and tooling.
- Train and mentor junior members of the team to help solidify their automation and testing expertise.
- Manual testing is to be expected, but emphasis will be placed on devising and implementing test automation.
- Develop standardized procedures - test strategies and plans, regression, integration, end to end testing, automated test cases.
- Working with Data Bricks, Snowflake and Azure, testing data hops through the different stages of transformation.
- Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks. Analyze, mitigate, and escalate where appropriate.
- Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.

What You Need
- Must have:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a QE/ Agile environment with a focus on technical, automated validations leveraging variety of tools/ technologies/ frameworks.
- Undergraduate degree in Technology.
- Hands-on experience with data engineering tools (e.g., Spark, Databricks, Snowflake) and strong understanding of data pipeline orchestration.
- Strong QA or Development background with focus on delivering excellent, well-tested, quality software into production, taking on the role of gatekeeper to production.
- Practical exposure to validating ML model output, metrics, and predictions using Python and popular libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, MLflow).
- Very good Python-coding skills, with focus on Spark/PySpark.
- Knowledge of ML lifecycle management and model monitoring.
- Must have implemented and be very familiar with CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communicator with good organizational and time management capabilities, able to establish good working relationships across teams.
- Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Nice-to-have:
- Post Graduate degree in Data Science.
- Experience working with Models
- Experience developing or testing AI Frameworks.
- Exposure to ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers.
- Familiarity with model drift detection and production monitoring practices.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices (e.g., fairness, explainability).
- Cloud-related experience.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Ontario
Compensation Range: $108,000-$132,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
