What it’s like to be a Quality Assurance Engineer at Northbridge Insurance

The Quality Assurance Test Engineer is responsible for collaborating on the development and execution of complex projects. Quality Assurance Engineers have a thorough skill, understanding, and mastery of all aspects of quality assurance. Quality Assurance Engineers lead projects with 2-3 internal/external resources. Quality Assurance Engineers help develop and execute strategic solutions to test for problems and find opportunities for improvement.

If you are great at:

  1. Analyzing product problems/issues for projects and/or business areas and support/design testing solutions.
  2. Tracking and managing testing solution requirements and bugs with Azure Devops.
  3. Assist with the facilitation and development of system solutions that will drive business strategy.
  4. Supporting the definition of testing objectives based on user needs, industry requirements, and an understanding of business rules.
  5. Assisting in testing system enhancements and products for discrepancies, and document relevant information and data in an accurate and timely manner as required.
  6. Coordinating with developers, team members and other quality assurance analysts/leads to test software changes and ensure that functionality meets stated user, business needs.
  7. Documenting system test solution requirements through consultation with team lead and senior management.
  8. Developing and maintaining a knowledge and understanding of company operations/procedures, and insurance industry trends/developments, to enhance the quality assurance process.
  9. Experience with Onshore/Offshore delivery model and leading onshore and offshore teams.
  10. Knowledge of Data Warehouse, relational databases, SQL, designing advanced SQL statements and data models.
  11. Knowledge and experience with Selenium, C#, Java, Jmeter, automation tools, test automation.
  12. Experience working in Cloud environments.
  13. Experience with Test Data Management, Test Data Creation and Data subset.
  14. Knowledge of QA applications, Azure Devops.

If you have:

  1. Post-secondary education in a related field (i.e. Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 6-8 years’ experience in quality assurance or related field.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or D365 is an asset.
  4. Strong knowledge of testing practices terminology and methodology.
  5. Knowledge of insurance, business, and technical areas; Property and Casualty Insurance experience is an asset.
