Job description

Company Profile: CORE Energy Recovery Solutions is a leading manufacturer specializing in the design and production of components for building HVAC systems and hydrogen fuel cells. As part of the Zehnder Group (SIX: ZEHN), CORE works with the world’s largest manufacturers to create solutions that reduce the carbon footprint of buildings and enables a renewable energy sector. Essence of the Role: As a member of the management team, the Senior Quality Manager has responsibility for Quality Assurance and Control systems and processes. While applying existing procedures, this individual also identifies appropriate new initiatives based on evolving company and customer needs. The Company is growing and entering new demanding markets that requires extensive business maturity and implementation experience. Understanding the quality requirements and expectations for different industries is critical for this role. This position is for someone that enjoys “building”, can be “hands-on” and is capable of working at a tactical and strategic level.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  1. Identify and prioritize appropriate QA/QC initiatives consistent with the strategic direction of the company.
  2. Manage, mentor and guide staff and ensure they obtain appropriate training and feedback.
  3. Analysis of current state & identification of priorities based on KPIs and internal/external customer requirements.
  4. Active member of the management team that supports the evolution and growth of the organization.
  5. Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Finance, Health & Safety, IT.
  6. Ensure consistency with Core/Zehnder Group policies and leverage the group for best practices.

Quality Control, Inspection, Analysis

  1. Manage quality at all stages: incoming, in-process and final inspection.
  2. Respond to customer concerns using appropriate methodology (ie// 8D, SCAR, RMA etc).
  3. Assemble and analyse quality data with objective of identifying root causes and prioritizing improvement areas.
  4. Implement a comprehensive NCR system capable of assembling and analyzing QC data.
  5. Conduct evaluation and pre-qualification of new suppliers in cooperation with supply chain.
  6. Lead the PPAP submission, in cooperation with other functions, as required for specific automotive customers.

Quality Assurance and Process Management

  1. Maintain and improve ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  2. Coordinate and participate in third party (registrar), customer and supplier audits.
  3. Management review and Quality Management System reporting with appropriate KPIs.
  4. Support engineering with ECO and deviation requests.
  5. Support the development of SOPs.
  6. Work collaboratively with other managers to ensure implementation of policies and procedures.
  7. Management of Document Control System.

Knowledge, Skills and Professional Characteristics

  4. Strong data driven analysis and mathematical skills.
  5. Very proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP Platform or an equivalent ERP Platform.
  6. Embraces change and drives operational improvements.
  7. Capable of reading engineering drawings, reviewing calculations, analyzing specifications and codes, very proficient in metrology.
  8. Ability to lift ~20 lbs/9 kg.
  9. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

  1. Engineering or Technologist Degree/Diploma.
  2. ASQ certification or similar.
  3. Advance Lean Training/6 σ or similar.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. 10+ years in Quality Control & Assurance; working in manufacturing environment.
  2. Very proficient with a QMS (Quality Management System) and ISO 9001.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of SPC and analytical methods used in manufacturing.
  4. Familiar with metal forming, casting, machining, molding, coating, web handling processes.
  5. Experience in mapping and re-engineering processes, disciplined problem-solving.
  6. Demonstrated familiarity with automotive quality requirements as defined by AIAG/IATF and specifically launching new products following APQP/PPAP.
  7. Strong working knowledge of: lean principles, root cause analysis tools, NCR process, SPC, FMEA, 6 sigma, 8Ds.
  8. Hands on experience using various measurement and quality inspection tools.
  9. Willing to travel (including international travel) with a valid passport and driver’s license.

Compensation package will be based off the candidates experience. (roughly 100-120K ABS)
