Job summary

The Ontario Public Service seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to lead quality assurance for major highway and bridge projects in Ontario from Kingston. You will oversee testing programs, review engineering approaches, and guide staff, consultants and contractors to meet ministry standards.

You will develop QA practices, interpret regulations, and assess risks to deliver safe, reliable infrastructure while supporting continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

• Accreditation as a Professional Engineer in a Canadian province or territory; PEO license required as a condition of acceptance.
• Valid driver's license (G license or equivalent) required upon hire.
• Knowledge of QA principles, testing methods, auditing, and performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance for major highway, bridge, and transportation projects across Ontario.
• Review construction materials, testing programs, and engineering approaches to ensure compliance with standards.
• Investigate complex construction and materials issues, assess risks, and recommend engineering solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to staff, consultants, contractors, and partners.
• Contribute to developing engineering specifications, standards, and QA practices for continuous improvement.
