Role Overview:

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (SQL/ETL Testing) is responsible for manual testing, debugging, complex SQL queries, and ETL validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Responsibilities include performing QA services, executing various testing types, preparing estimates, and participating in planning activities aligned with best practices and Ontario Health standards.

The role may lead testing efforts for complex projects, assess project requirements, provide testing estimates, and coordinate with stakeholders to integrate testing into project schedules. The engineer will also manage testing tools and environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess project requirements and provide testing estimates
• Create test scenarios and data
• Design risk-based testing strategies
• Track testing activities and report findings
• Support Data Warehousing testing initiatives
• Develop complex SQL scripts for ETL and BI validation
• Analyze database data using SQL queries
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure quality
• Adhere to QA standards and SDLC methodologies
• Test digital assets including websites, landing pages, and emails
• Work independently within project scopes and meet deadlines

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5–7 years of IT experience, especially in application development, data analysis, and data validation
• Strong experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle, or similar databases
• Experience with ETL, Data Warehouse, and SQL scripting
• QA certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent are assets
• Experience with automation testing frameworks and Agile methodologies
• Excellent SQL data analysis skills and understanding of database concepts
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
