About the Job:

Job Title: Sr QA Automation Engineer/Consultant

Location: Toronto or Halifax, Canada (2 Days Onsite, 3 Days Remote)

Title: Sr QA Automation Engineer (Cloud). Ideally AI/ML experience, but candidates with Cloud, Data Bricks, Python, Azure, AWS, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes skills are also suitable.

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience; more is preferred.

Additional Remarks: Need a strong QA Automation Engineer with experience in AI/ML technologies is a plus. If AI/ML experience is lacking, then expertise in Python coding, PySpark or Spark, and cloud or DevOps experience with AWS, Azure, DataBricks, CI/CD, Docker, or Kubernetes is required.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and promote best practices in Quality engineering.
• Create and maintain end-to-end test automation frameworks on-premises and in the cloud using Python.
• Suggest and implement improvements to test automation processes and tools.
• Train and mentor junior team members in automation and testing.
• Perform manual testing as needed, with an emphasis on automation.
• Develop standardized procedures, test strategies, plans, regression, integration, end-to-end testing, and automated test cases.
• Work with Data Bricks, Snowflake, and Azure to test data transformation workflows and manage Unity catalogs.
• Identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks; analyze, mitigate, and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives and ensure effective implementation of deliverables.

Must have:

• Strong Python coding skills, especially with Spark/PySpark.
• Solid QA or development background focused on delivering high-quality software into production.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience working with AI models.
• Experience developing or testing AI frameworks.
• Cloud-related experience.
