Job summary

Intact is seeking a Senior QA Analyst to join our growing team, focusing on testing financial and compliance systems with IFRS17 expertise. You will collaborate with product managers, developers and business analysts to define testing traceability and develop robust test strategies and plans.

Lead manual and automated test execution, manage defects, monitor risks, and drive process improvements while working with SQL queries on transactional data. Strong English and French skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in business, information technology, finance/acounting, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working on financial or compliance systems; direct experience working with Finance teams.
• Knowledge of IFRS 17 and proven experience working with accounting and finance systems is a must.
• Advanced SQL expertise is highly desired.
• Proficiency with Excel, Jira, Snowflake, Databricks and RDBMS.
• Excellent communication skills, rigor, and strong sense of internal control.
• Proficiency in English is required; fluency in French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and business analysts, to understand requirements and define testing traceability matrix.
• Create and maintain Test Strategies and Test Plans for complex projects, defining scope, approach, resources, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
• Communicate test cases, test scenarios to all the relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment on testing objectives, expectations and robust test coverage.
• Lead the execution of both manual and automated test cases, ensuring thorough validation of software functionality and performance against defined requirements and the applicable provisions of IFRS17.
• Lead the defect reporting process, ensure that all identified defects are logged accurately, prioritized, and tracker through resolution using established methodologies. Collaborate with development team to ensure swift communication and resolution of issues, provide clear reports on defect status and impact to relevant stakeholders
• Proactively monitor and assess risks against the testing plan, propose mitigation plans and align with the impacted stakeholders.
• Continuously analyze and improve test planning and strategy processes to enhance their effectiveness and efficiency, contributing to overall success.
• Proficiency in working with transactional databases and executing queries to conduct data analysis on financial results.

Salary range (but not limited to):

87,200 - 106,600

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. What you bring to the table:

• Knowledge of P&C accounting is considered an asset.
• Excellent communication skills, rigor, and strong sense of internal control.
• Proficiency in English is required; fluency in French is a plus.
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
