Senior QA Automation Engineer

We're seeking a detail-oriented Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality of our software products by leading and implementing robust testing strategies. We're seeking a candidate with extensive hands-on experience in UI, web services, and database automation testing, coupled with a solid understanding of Jira for comprehensive test management. This role demands a 60-70% focus on automation, with the remaining 30-40% dedicated to manual testing.

What You'll Do:

• Design and develop sustainable automation tests that seamlessly integrate into our Continuous Integration (CI) pipeline for proactive issue detection.
• Maintain and leverage Jira dashboards to provide clear visibility into Quality KPIs.
• Craft, execute, and maintain detailed test plans, scenarios, and scripts using Xray.
• Collaborate closely with business and development teams to define clear, testable acceptance criteria early in the development lifecycle.
• Proactively identify and escalate potential risks within the release cycle to ensure timely resolution.
• Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, from requirement refinement to retrospectives, driving continuous improvement in our development process.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to fellow QA Engineers, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Champion QA best practices, confidently challenging developers and product teams when designs or processes don't meet our quality standards.
• Partner with offshore QA and development teams to successfully achieve sprint goals.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience as a Senior QA Engineer, including the ability to lead testing activities, coordinate with other testers, and coach junior QAs.
• Strong proficiency in Java for writing efficient, maintainable, and scalable automation programs.
• In-depth understanding of the Document Object Model (DOM) and its manipulation.
• Robust knowledge of APIs, including RESTful and SOAP services, with 3+ years of hands-on experience testing RESTful services.
• Expertise in SQL and a clear understanding of database management systems (DBMS).
• Proficiency in Jira (or similar tools like Xray/Zephyr) for comprehensive test management.
• Basic Unix skills for server access and log navigation.
• Experience with web service testing tools such as Postman and/or SoapUI.
• Clear understanding of various testing types (Smoke, Integration, Regression) and how to effectively group and prioritize tests within respective suites.
• Strong knowledge of Jenkins, including how deployment jobs function and how to integrate automation test jobs into CI pipelines.
• A strong commitment to documentation, ensuring processes, knowledge, and system details are captured in a reusable and accessible manner.
• Non-negotiable: 3+ years of hands-on experience with test automation tools like Selenium/Playwright (or similar), TestNG or JUnit, and Cucumber.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with JMeter test scripting.
