Job summary

Gilder Search Group in Toronto is seeking a Senior Python/SQL Engineer for a 6-month contract with possible extensions. This hybrid role requires a minimum of four in-office days per week and offers CAD 90-95 per hour.

You will work on Python, SQL, and C# applications, migrate Oracle‑based systems to Snowflake, support Power BI dashboards, and ensure data integrity across financial services datasets.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL and C# application development.
• Experience migrating Oracle-based applications to Snowflake.
• Experience with Snowflake SQL development, connectivity, and migration from legacy databases.
• Power BI dashboard development, migration, or data source re-pointing.
• Minimum 4 years of software, database, or data engineering experience.
• Experience updating C#, Julia, and Python apps using Oracle tables, Oracle SQL, and Oracle stored procedures.
• Experience with Oracle databases including Oracle SQL, stored procedures, and database-driven applications.
• Background in financial services, ideally supporting market risk, investment risk, or capital markets teams.

Must Have

• Strong hands‑on experience with Python, SQL, and C# application development.
• Hands‑on experience migrating Oracle‑based applications to Snowflake rather than simply developing in Snowflake.
• Experience with Snowflake, including SQL development, connectivity, query optimization, and migration from legacy databases.
• Support the migration of Power BI dashboards and reports from Oracle‑based data sources to Snowflake.
• Minimum 4 years of software development, database development, or data engineering experience.
• Analyze and update C#, Julia, and Python applications that currently depend on Oracle tables, Oracle SQL, and Oracle stored procedures.
• Experience with Julia is a plus
• Experience with Oracle databases, including Oracle SQL, stored procedures, and database‑driven applications.
• Background in financial services, ideally supporting market risk, investment risk, or capital markets teams.
• Experience with Power BI dashboard development, migration, or data source repointing.
