Job Title: Senior Python/Java Developer - Web Engineering
Location: Montreal (Office attendance from day 1 - Hybrid Mode 3x per week)

The web engineering team is looking for a strong Java/Python developer to build web hosting and infrastructure provision platform. The candidate should have strong technical abilities and interpersonal skills to work with teams across divisions and geographies. The candidate will explore new frontiers in cloud-based web platforms and implement solutions for diverse user requirements. The candidate will communicate and work with application owners across the firm regularly.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Participate in Agile squads to design and develop the firm’s web hosting and infrastructure provision platforms.
2. Learn and explore the technical landscape of cloud-based application platforms.
3. Collaborate with squads across divisions to implement and deliver technical solutions.
4. Work with the application community to adopt best practices for designing cloud-native web applications.

Minimum qualifications:

• Strong programming skills in Python and shell scripting.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging production systems and code.
• Experience with HTTPS/HTTP, REST API, Docker/Podman, K8s, private and public cloud.
• Knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, DNS/DHCP, Load balancing, Authentication, and Authorization.
• Experience developing and deploying applications with Apache and Tomcat containers.
• Strong communication skills for documentation and collaboration with geographically distributed teams.

Desired qualifications:

• Experience building and deploying distributed and multi-tenant systems on public and on-premises cloud.
• Knowledge of database technologies, RDBMS, and NoSQL.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, OAUTH/OIDC.
