About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer - Python (API & Platform Engineering) to join our engineering team in Toronto, Ontario. This is a hands-on backend engineering role focused on building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems for enterprise-grade financial platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, RESTful APIs, system design, platform engineering, databases, and cloud technologies, along with experience building distributed and highly scalable backend systems.

This is an onsite role in Toronto, and an in-person interview in Toronto is mandatory.

Position Summary

The Backend Engineer - Python (API & Platform Engineering) will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs. The role involves contributing to platform engineering, distributed system design, backend integrations, performance optimization, security, and observability.

You will work closely with frontend, DevOps, product, and engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions supporting mission-critical financial platforms.
