Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is seeking an Expert Python Developer to support a high-impact initiative to convert legacy SAS code into modern Python.

This is an exciting chance to be part of a critical data transformation project in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

As the Expert Python Developer, you will:

1. Analyze and interpret existing SAS code and business logic
2. Rebuild and optimize workflows using Python and modern data tools
3. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance through rigorous validation
4. Partner with cross-functional teams across data, risk, and technology
5. Type: 5-month contract (with strong potential for extension)
6. Location: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite)
7. Start Date: ASAP
8. 7+ years of professional Python development experience
9. Proven expertise in converting or rewriting SAS code in Python
10. Strong grasp of data transformation, analytics, and ETL pipelines
11. Proficiency with Pandas, NumPy, SQL, and other data-centric Python libraries
12. Excellent problem-solving and independent execution skills

Nice to Have

1. Familiarity with SAS Base or Enterprise Guide
2. Experience in financial services, risk modeling, or data governance
