About the Role : Senior Property Accountant

Reporting to the Manager of Property Accounting and Financing, the Senior Property Accountant will manage accounting records for a portfolio of commercial, industrial, and residential properties. This role involves budget preparation, financial statement analysis, and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounting records for a designated portfolio of properties.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly operating statements, identifying variances.
  • Prepare year-end financial statements and supporting documentation.
  • Manage monthly processes, including management fees, bank reconciliations, rent rolls, and tax returns.
  • Perform annual year-end reconciliations of operating cost charges.
  • Handle inquiries from internal departments and external auditors.
  • Prepare and reconcile tenant statements, manage lease charges, and generate invoices.
  • Contribute to the development of annual budgets and tenant revenue schedules.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting packages for designated properties.
  • Provide support and guidance to accounts payable personnel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager Accounting System is highly valued.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
