Job description

Senior Property Accountant – North Vancouver

Our client, a fast-paced and rapidly growing Property Management company, is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in full-cycle accounting, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial records and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle accounting processes for a portfolio of properties, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements along with supporting schedules.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, while identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with the Controller.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support property management operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation (completed or near completion) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of property accounting experience, including CAM reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in property management software such as Spectra or Yardi.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail.
