As new camera systems and are introduced in the region, so too will the opportunity to grow into a more managerial and team-focused position. This role requires a self-motivated professional comfortable with rapid and long travel and adapting to on-the-ground challenges while remaining committed to safety, operational excellence, and exceptional client service.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Install, tune, and maintain speed camera systems across diverse locations in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations, routine inspections, and troubleshoot mechanical, electronic, or software issues to ensure continuous optimal performance.
  • Conduct periodic system checks and necessary adjustments, consistently adhering to established safety and operational standards.

Project Coordination & Onsite Management:

  • Assist and/or oversee the rollout schedule and project phases from initial installation through post-installation testing. Work with current Project Management team on initial roll out.
  • Independently manage daily field tasks and prioritize competing demands without compromising on quality or timelines.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and maintenance documentation to keep senior management and the Ontario ticket-processing team informed.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Work in accordance with company health and safety protocols and legal guidelines.
  • Ensure all on-site activities strictly follow operational procedures and quality benchmarks for each installation.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client and Cross-Functional Communication:

  • Serve as the go-to contact for client inquiries and technical concerns, ensuring a seamless link between field operations and corporate support teams in Ontario.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (including the Project Management team in Ontario and Director of Operations) to relay project progress, resolve issues swiftly, and plan adaptations as the program scales.

Operational & Inventory Oversight:

  • Monitor and manage necessary tools, equipment, and spares required for effective field operation.
  • Take responsibility for ordering, maintaining, and tracking inventory while liaising with vendors and part suppliers.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for each phase of installation, ongoing maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting outcomes.
  • Participate in regular project meetings and contribute forward-thinking ideas to improve processes, policies, and technical strategies.

Growth & Transition to Management:

  • Embrace learning and training opportunities that prepare you for a potential transition into a managerial role, where you will oversee a dedicated team as the project portfolio expands.
  • Mentor junior technicians and offer technical guidance during field deployments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Electronics, IT) or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant technical work experience, incorporating elements of field service, maintenance, and project coordination.

Technical & Soft Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting electronic, mechanical, and software components relevant to digital camera systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedural documentation.
  • Strong organization, self-management, and time prioritization skills with a natural aptitude for problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary for clear reporting and effective interaction with clients, remote teams, and senior management.

Additional Requirements:
