Our skilled team of professionals manages process design, equipment specifications, plant layout, equipment qualifications, construction, and installations, manages vendors to ensure successful projects delivered on time and within budget.

The Opportunity: The role requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering, project management, consulting, or design experience to drive and manage multiple projects for clients in the food, beverage, and pet food industries.

The Team: Our team is comprised of diverse, multi-disciplinary professional engineers, designers, and project managers with extensive experience leading and managing multimillion-dollar projects for industry leaders.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Lead major project initiatives, including identifying equipment capabilities, utility & infrastructure requirements, and developing layout concepts.
  2. Manage and mentor multiple disciplinary teams.
  3. Liaise with vendors and contractors to ensure proper installation of project requirements.
  4. Support site start-up, troubleshoot, and resolve issues during installation and start-up.
  5. Oversee development of engineering check-out, equipment acceptance testing, start-up, and validation processes.
  6. Develop and maintain project plans, coordinate activities, and track milestones.
  7. Manage project planning, risk, dependencies, issues, and change management following best practices.
  8. Provide technical guidance during project design, implementation, commissioning, and process qualification.
  9. Coordinate with core disciplines and clients to meet project objectives timely.
  10. Ensure compliance with CFIA, USDA, and FDA food equipment clean design requirements.
  11. Prepare and issue tender documents, and manage the tender process.
  12. Streamline organizational processes and establish best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or Civil disciplines.
  • Professional Engineer status.
  • Experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or pet nutrition industries.
  • Knowledge of FDA and USDA food equipment and clean design standards.
  • Flexibility to work hours including weekends if required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience in equipment concept development, design, procurement, and installation.
  • Construction, contractor management, commissioning, and validation experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and passport; relocation may be required for US-based projects for 9-12 months.
