The GO Expansion scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.
Alstom is seeking aSenior Project Plannerto join the Project Core Team. This individual will play a key role in supporting scheduling teams and collaborating closely with theEngineering team, particularly in the management ofthree critical signaling work packages:
- System
- Interlocking
- Verification & Validation (V&V)
Responsibilities
- Lead planning activities across multiple signaling work packages, ensuring integration and consistency with engineering deliverables.
- Maintain project/program schedules using industry best practices:
- Reflect execution strategy
- Capture full scope
- Logical sequencing and linking
- Resource assignment and float analysis
- Schedule risk analysis and baseline setting
- Manage planning deliverables and ensure timely issuance.
- Facilitate communication and synchronization among internal stakeholders, with a strong interface with Engineering.
- Proactively report schedule progress to stakeholders (customer, core team, corporate).
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with theEngineering teamto align planning with technical milestones and deliverables.
- Contribute to project baseline definition and ensure internal and customer acceptance.
- Manage schedule interfaces and stakeholder commitments.
- Perform schedule analysis and trade-offs to resolve gaps.
- Organize periodic schedule review sessions.
- Identify potential delays early, focusing on critical paths and schedule margins.
- Prepare schedule and progress reports for customers and partners.
- Support the Core Team on schedule-related issues.
- Apply and promote project scheduling processes and time management practices.
- Share best practices and contribute to continuous improvement.
Performance measurements in contract or program execution
- Baseline approved (internally and by the Customer).
- Regular and consistent scheduling updates, with potential delays analysis.
- Delivery on-time delivery of KPIs (OTD, Gate Reviews GO on time, sales, cash, …) and planning documents.
- Standard metrics measuring schedule robustness (PSI - Project Schedule Integrity).
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or in arelated discipline
Experience
- 7-10 years’ experience as PrPM / SSM / Project Development Planning Manager / Reporting Manager
- Project Management and industrial background
- Experience in complex projects (Design-build)
- Is used to work with internal processes (Tenders, Projects, Engineering, Industrial, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, and their interfaces)
- Project scheduling processes
- Worked with resource load schedule (material, manpower, etc.),Scheduleof Values (SOV), Earned Value Management (EVM)
Competencies & Skills
- Primavera P6 andMS-Project software skills are mandatory
- Advanced MS Office proficiency, particularly MS-Excel
- Desirable overall knowledge of railway products and systems
- Agility to juggle schedules (detailed execution and customer schedules) simulations and various scenarios,and changing project goals
- Forensic planning
- Rigorous, structured, and sense of anticipation
