We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager, Engineering to lead and coordinate engineering and design efforts within our Ship Repair program. This is a high-impact role responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of engineering outputs from our Halifax Class Design Agent (Fleetway) and its partners, including DSEC, while supporting production efforts for HMCS Fredericton and future ship repair projects.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in shipbuilding, warship operations, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of shipbuilding methodologies and transitioning design into production.
  • Formal Project Management certification (preferred).
  • Proven experience in program delivery including budget, risk, stakeholder, and change management.
  • Deep knowledge of warship lifecycles and engineering project execution.
  • Exceptional communication, coordination, and leadership skills.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.

Responsibilities

As the key engineering interface for the Ship Repair program, you will:

  • Represent ISI Engineering in progress reviews, planning sessions, and risk management meetings.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables with Fleetway and design partners to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Production Engineering and Project Engineering to ensure seamless handover of outputs to Planning and Production.
  • Manage field service engineering support to enable successful ship repair execution.
  • Monitor program performance through KPIs and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering delivery and overall shipyard efficiency.
