Job description

Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Sr. Project Manager, Municipal Roads to join our Transportation Practice in the Greater Ottawa Area! This role follows a hybrid work model.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As a Sr. Project Manager, Municipal Roads, you will function as a project manager or team lead on municipal roadway projects. You will also participate in and support pursuit and business development efforts, while nurturing and developing client relationships.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepare project management plans and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with all discipline leads, department heads, other project managers, project controls staff, and construction personnel.
  • Maintain a high level of technical quality on the projects.
  • Mentor project staff and participate in hiring processes.
  • Provide effective and efficient management of day-to-day operations within the roads and highways team.

What you will bring to our firm:

  • 10+ years of related project experience on municipal roadway projects in Ontario and the Ottawa area.
  • P.Eng. designation required.
  • Direct experience in a project management capacity with the City of Ottawa.
  • A university degree in civil engineering or related degree.
  • Familiarity with roadway design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, ORD).
  • Technical excellence in civil & roadway design.
  • A thorough understanding of the requirements and complexities of the design and management of multi-disciplinary projects, such as utility coordination, construction staging, traffic management, public consultation, external agency approvals, communication and liaison, coordination of sub-consultants and design groups, schedule and budget control, quality control, construction administration, and claims resolution.

What we prefer you bring:

  • Experience in BRT, LRT including intermodal transit facilities an asset.
  • Familiarity and experience with various delivery models and P3 projects is an asset.
