JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Leads all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Investigates safety incidents and retrains staff as needed.
  • Manages the JE Dunn prestart checklist form.
  • Supports the preconstruction team including quantity takeoff, trade coordination, scope of work development, scope review, bid package development, schedule development, bid list creation, and bid advertisement.
  • Leads plan and implementation of buyout schedule. Verifies pricing and scope, identifies successful bidders, provides gap analysis against initial scope, and manages issuance of subcontracts.
  • Manages the submittal schedule setup. Coordinates priorities with the team; reviews and approves all shop drawings and samples prior to submittal to architects or engineers.
  • Ensures approved submittals are returned to subcontractors and available to the project team per the project schedule and the contract.
  • Coordinates with Logistics to obtain pricing on materials and equipment.
  • Confers with risk management to ensure approval and/or bonding requirements for subcontractors. Reviews decisions with the project leader. Provides ongoing risk analysis of subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinates the various stakeholders of the project including but not limited to subcontractors, owners, field, design team, vendors, etc.
  • Disseminates change requests to subcontractors for pricing and schedule input. Gathers and evaluates subcontractor pricing to confirm accuracy.
  • Prepares, submits, and obtains owner/architect approval for change requests.
  • Leads various meetings such as monthly project reviews, progress meetings, and OAC (Owner Architect) meetings.
  • Completes monthly subcontractor and owner pay application processes.
  • Prepares project schedule with the Project Superintendent. Gathers input from the project team and utilizes Lean principles as appropriate. Develops and updates project schedule for both preconstruction and construction activities. Manages materials, labor, and procurement logs to ensure resources meet the schedule.
  • Identifies potential schedule impacts including scope, weather, manpower, and changes, and facilitates mitigation plans.
  • Provides written documentation for decisions affecting project aspects such as budget, schedule, legal, quality, and safety, employing current best practices.
  • Provides regular reporting and analysis to communicate overall project status and profitability.
  • Prepares monthly cost and margin forecasts with input from the superintendent and reviews with the project team. Participates in developing the project budget. Regularly reviews costs relative to the budget and highlights discrepancies.
  • Leads overall project closeout using best practices, including punch lists, financials, subcontracts, warranties, etc.
  • Interfaces with legal counsel as appropriate.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Project Manager
  • Leads and participates in all aspects of the project-specific safety plan, fostering a safety culture through actions and mentoring. Investigates safety incidents and retrains staff as needed.
  • Understands the preconstruction process from conceptual phase through GMP development.
  • Completes estimating and productivity analysis.
  • Supports preconstruction discussions with clients and oversees project team during estimate development.
  • Manages project risks and contributes to the business plan for financial success.
  • Implements operation and administration of multiple projects, identifying and solving problems proactively.
  • Builds external relationships through business, industry, and community activities.
  • Reviews and approves expense reports and negotiates project issues like change orders and contingency expenditures.
  • Participates in scope review, bid analysis, and subcontract awards.
  • Collaborates with marketing on presentations and activities.
  • Promotes diversity and inclusion, ensuring policy implementation throughout the organization.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of construction management experience
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours
  • Exposure to extreme conditions possible
  • Work may occur at project sites or in the office
