The Opportunity

Aplin has partnered with a leading global industrial manufacturer to recruit an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the startup and operational readiness of a new manufacturing facility in Kirkland, Quebec.

This is an excellent 6-month contract opportunity for an experienced project leader who has been involved in a greenfield or brownfield manufacturing startup, plant expansion, facility relocation or major capital project.

The Senior Project Manager will serve as the central project integrator, coordinating all activities required to transition the facility from construction and equipment installation through operational readiness and production launch.

You will work across manufacturing engineering, construction, operations, facilities, IT, EHS, quality, supply chain and HR while coordinating contractors, consultants, vendors and other external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the master site startup project plan
• Establish milestones, dependencies, critical paths and deliverables
• Coordinate construction, facility and manufacturing‑readiness activities
• Coordinate manufacturing equipment installation and production layout
• Track schedules, budgets, risks and key project milestones
• Identify roadblocks and drive timely resolution
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, vendors and property stakeholders
• Drive readiness across manufacturing, warehouse, IT, EHS, quality and supply chain
• Support staffing, training, commissioning and production launch
• Provide regular project updates to senior leadership

What We’re Looking For

• 5–10+ years of project management experience
• Strong manufacturing or industrial project experience
• Previous plant startup, expansion, relocation or operational‑readiness experience strongly preferred
• Experience with manufacturing equipment installation, commissioning or capital projects
• Strong cross‑functional project leadership skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Construction Management, Operations or a related discipline preferred
• PMP or equivalent certification is an asset
• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and French
• Available for daily on‑site work in Kirkland

The Assignment

This is a 6-month contract requiring someone who can quickly step into a complex project, establish priorities and drive multiple workstreams toward a successful manufacturing startup.

L’opportunité

Le Chef de projet principal agira comme principal intégrateur du projet et coordonnera l’ensemble des activités nécessaires pour faire passer l’installation de la phase de construction et d’installation des équipements jusqu’à la préparation opérationnelle et au démarrage de la production.

Vous collaborerez étroitement avec les équipes d’ingénierie manufacturière, de construction, des opérations, des installations, des TI, de santé-sécurité-environnement, de qualité, de chaîne d’approvisionnement et des ressources humaines. Vous coordonnerez également les entrepreneurs, consultants, fournisseurs et autres intervenants externes.

Principales responsabilités

• Prendre en charge et gérer le plan directeur de démarrage du site
• Établir les jalons, dépendances, chemins critiques et livrables
• Coordonner les activités liées à la construction, aux installations et à la préparation manufacturière
• Coordonner l’installation des équipements de production et l’aménagement des espaces manufacturiers
• Suivre les échéanciers, budgets, risques et principaux jalons du projet
• Identifier les obstacles et assurer leur résolution rapide
• Coordonner les entrepreneurs, consultants, fournisseurs et intervenants immobiliers
• Piloter la préparation des opérations manufacturières, de l’entrepôt, des TI, de la santé-sécurité-environnement, de la qualité et de la chaîne d’approvisionnement
• Soutenir les activités de dotation, de formation, de mise en service et de démarrage de la production
• Fournir régulièrement des mises à jour sur l’avancement du projet à la haute direction

Profil recherché

• 5 à 10+ années d’expérience en gestion de projets
• Solide expérience dans un environnement manufacturier ou industriel
• Expérience préalable en démarrage, agrandissement ou déménagement d’usine ou en préparation opérationnelle fortement souhaitée
• Expérience en installation d’équipements manufacturiers, mise en service ou projets d’investissement
• Excellentes compétences en leadership et en gestion de projets multidisciplinaires
• Baccalauréat en ingénierie, administration, gestion de projets, gestion de la construction, opérations ou dans une discipline connexe, de préférence
• Certification PMP ou équivalente considérée comme un atout
• Excellente maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, à l’oral comme à l’écrit
• Disponibilité pour travailler quotidiennement sur place à Kirkland

Le mandat

Il s’agit d’un contrat de 6 mois destiné à une personne capable de s’intégrer rapidement à un projet complexe, d’établir les priorités et de coordonner plusieurs volets simultanément afin d’assurer le démarrage réussi de la nouvelle installation manufacturière.
