Job summary

ThoughtStorm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a complex healthcare IT initiative, focusing on enhancing SADIE EMR functionality and integrating with Hospital Information Systems (HIS). This role requires extensive experience managing high-risk, multi-stakeholder projects in clinical environments and a strong technical understanding of healthcare integration technologies.

The position is five-days onsite in a healthcare/enterprise setting, with responsibilities spanning executive-level

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading large, complex, high-profile IT projects from initiation through closure.
• Strong healthcare/clinical IT background in EMR, HIS or health IT environments.
• Hands-on EMR/HIS integration projects with EMR and HIS systems.
• Solid knowledge of FHIR and healthcare data exchange standards (Smile CDR preferred).
• Experience delivering projects iteratively using Agile methods and flexible delivery.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and modern integration architectures.
• Experience with containerized environments (OpenShift/Kubernetes).
• Ability to manage schedules, scope, budgets, dependencies, risks and issues across multiple teams.
• Excellent communication: executive briefings, status reports and steering committee materials.
• Understanding of healthcare privacy and security requirements in software development.

Job description

Senior Project Manager/Leader required to lead a complex healthcare IT initiative focused on enhancing SADIE EMR functionality and integrating electronic medical record capabilities with Hospital Information Systems (HIS). The ideal candidate should have strong experience managing large, high-risk, multi-stakeholder projects in a healthcare/clinical environment, along with sufficient technical understanding of modern healthcare integration technologies. This is a 5-days onsite role.

Must-Have / Required Skill Set — Priority Order

• Senior Project Management – Proven experience leading large, complex, high-profile and multi-stakeholder IT projects from initiation through implementation and closure.
• Healthcare / Clinical IT Experience – Strong experience working in healthcare, clinical, EMR, HIS or health information technology environments.
• EMR & HIS Integration – Hands-on project experience integrating solutions with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
• FHIR & Healthcare Data Exchange – Strong knowledge of FHIR, healthcare data exchange standards and preferably Smile CDR.
• Iterative / Agile Project Delivery – Experience managing projects using an Iterative delivery methodology, with strong understanding of Agile ways of working.
• Technical Integration & APIs – Understanding/experience with RESTful APIs, API integration and modern application/service architectures.
• Containerization & Orchestration – Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes and containerized application environments.
• Risk, Issue, Budget & Schedule Management – Strong ability to manage complex schedules, scope, budgets, dependencies, risks and issues across multiple teams.
• Executive & Stakeholder Management – Excellent communication skills with experience preparing executive briefings, presentations, status reports and steering committee materials.
• Healthcare Privacy & Security – Understanding of privacy/security requirements associated with software development and information management in healthcare environments.
• Large Team & Government Project Management – Experience directing multidisciplinary teams and working within government/enterprise project management standards and governance frameworks.
