Job summary

Taggart Construction Limited invites applications for a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role drives planning, risk assessment, budgets, and client relations, while mentoring Project Managers and Coordinators.

You will guide the department’s processes and tools, ensuring contracts, schedules, and change orders are managed effectively to deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree, B.A.Sc. (Civil Engineering) or Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma required.
• 10+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction.
• 5+ years leading municipal integrated sewer and water infrastructure projects.
• Experience independently managing projects valued at $15 million+.
• 5+ years leadership or management experience.
• Strong experience managing budgets, contracts, schedules, and change orders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with HCSS, Primavera, eCMS, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of projects from award through completion, ensuring safe delivery, on schedule, and within budget.
• Review contracts, specifications, estimates, schedules, and project requirements to establish objectives and execution plans.
• Coordinate with Estimating, Superintendents, Project Coordinators, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients to manage project delivery.
• Manage project documentation, contracts, purchase orders, subcontracts, permits, shop drawings, change orders, and other contractual requirements.
• Monitor project progress, quality, scope, and production; identify risks and implement solutions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and act as primary point of contact for project matters.
• Conduct site visits and ensure project close-out and contractual obligations are completed.
