Wage: $40.87-$45.67/hour, depending on individual education, qualifications, and experience.

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Manager to join our team remotely on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate is in northwestern British Columbia, as some of our clients and projects are in this area.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Owner, the Senior Project Manager will support, lead, plan, manage, and execute a variety of complex, diverse, and high-visibility projects. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company goals and the client’s operating model.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to the project team for project life cycles by planning, budgeting, scheduling and tracking project plans.
  • Engage with project interest holders to provide updates, gather feedback, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Coordinate with all project teams to ensure compatibility between goals and deliverables, execution on time, budget, and scope.
  • Provide expertise to the junior project team to increase their project management capacity and competency.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure the execution of project management processes and best practices.
  • Use various project planning tools to track project progress and milestones.
  • Co-create and regularly review project management processes, tools, templates, documents, and guidelines to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support Team Lead with identifying project opportunities and available grants to support ongoing projects.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

  • A four (4) -year university degree with 5-10 years related experience with two (2) or more years in a professional consulting context; or,
  • Technical diploma/certification with extensive years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Candidates with less applicable experience may be considered at a different level.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP, or equivalent) or eligibility for a designation is required.
  • Ongoing professional development and holding relevant certifications are assets.

Experience:

  • A combined 5-10 years' experience in project management, change management, co-management, and/or co-governance is required.
  • Experience building partnerships and working with Indigenous businesses, community members, governments, and/or organizations is needed.
  • Experience with Natural Resource Management projects is required.
  • Experience working in social development and economic development sectors is an asset.
  • Experience as a leader with success in building inclusive and collaborative relationships.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of the history and present-day context of Indigenous groups in British Columbia and other jurisdictions in Canada is required.
  • Must demonstrate good judgement, ability to deal with complex and sensitive subjects, and communicate effectively.
  • Must possess strong facilitative, negotiation, influencing, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • High level of professionalism, personal accountability, integrity, and ethics.
  • Superior project planning and organizational skills; successfully leading diverse teams.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage time.
  • Strong knowledge of written and digital project management tools.
  • Excellent computer skills and competence with Microsoft 365 Suite and Adobe Acrobat are required.
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet, Power BI, Canva and other software is an asset.
