Job Title: Senior Project Manager : GIS Implementation
Location: Calgary, Alberta

What you will be doing
  • Managing, defining, planning, controlling and leading assigned projects based on the approved scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Ensuring adherence to the IT PMO Methodology and the specific Solution Delivery processes and standards.
  • Ensuring that project decisions are formally documented, and project deliverables are stored in the official project repository.
  • Creating and executing project plans and making revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements of the project.
  • Demonstrates good project planning skills including the use of a Gantt plan
    • Knowledge of MS Project is an asset
    • How to manage project timeline gaps and scope gaps
    • Facilitate discussions with team members to develop the plan, planning tasks, estimating, dependencies
  • Demonstrates good stakeholder management
    • Ability to facilitate diverse groups to get to decisions
  • Identifying resources required and coordinating work of project resources allocated by IT and the Business partners.
  • Managing project budget, including tracking, and reporting team hours and expenses as well as forecasting project capital expenditures and operating expenditures where applicable.
  • Preparing for stage gate reviews.
  • Influencing and engaging all levels of stakeholders from executive leadership to project team members.
  • Effectively communicating relevant project information to project stakeholders or steering committee.
  • Ensuring that assigned projects are completed on time, on budget, and satisfy the requirements agreed with the client.
  • Supporting organizational change as it relates to people, process, and technology.
  • Maintain practices and procedures that support enterprise service management, governance, and regulatory processes.
What you must have
  • GIS Implementation experience within a relative utility and or aligned industry where heavy utilization of GIS products are leveraged.
  • Experienced in fiscal delivery of an in-flight Project within a corporate wide program.
  • Experienced in VP, Director communications and cognizant of change management.
