About this role

We are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager / Estimator to join our Construction group in Victoria focused on Commercial, Institutional, and Residential projects across the island.

The Senior Project Manager / Estimator is responsible to lead all aspects of the job. This includes the estimating, project planning, labour management, procurement, billing, communications, and wrap up of each project.

Your responsibilities

• Work with clients and identify potential business opportunities
• Estimate projects and submit tenders
• Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions
• Maintain good relationship with suppliers, consultants, general contractors and end users
• Manage project financials (including billing), purchasing, schedules and labour
• Mitigate project risk, deficiencies and estimate changes as needed
• Work with internal stakeholders, field staff and customers, to ensure projects remain on track, on budget and meet expectations
• Be present on jobsites when required and review project upon completion to discuss success and challenges
• Review the project at completion with the supervisor and superintendent to discuss successes and challenges

Your experience and skills

• Minimum 7-10 years of previous experience in Electrical Project Management and / or Estimating with a strong background or knowledge in electrical work within the construction industry
• Red Seal Electrician or Electrical engineer is ideal
• PMP Certificate, Gold Seal in Project Management, Project Management Certificate, or equivalent education is required
• Demonstrated experience completing multiple projects from start-up to close out
• Previous experience with estimating programs, specifically Accubid (Accubid Pro and Change Order) an asset
• Strong computer proficiency with MS Office, Procore, AutoCAD, Teams, etc.
• Financial acumen and basic understanding of contract law
• Ability to create a detailed project schedule
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to understand customer's needs
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills
