Job summary

BBA Consultants in Canada is seeking a senior project manager with extensive consulting engineering experience to lead large EPCM/EPC projects in mining and heavy industry. The role requires coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets, schedules, and client relations, and mentoring junior staff.

You will work in a bilingual environment, collaborating with BBA offices across Canada and international clients, while aligning with safety, quality, and business development objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and licensure is required.
• Twenty years of relevant work experience are expected.
• Experience managing medium to large EPCM and EPC projects in mining/heavy industry is required.
• Advanced MS Office and project controls knowledge are essential.
• Fluency in French and English to collaborate with Quebec offices and external clients.

• Manage stakeholder expectations across teams and clients.
• Proactively manage technical, financial, schedule and HR issues to mitigate variances.

• Ensure quality of professional services per the quality management system.
• Participate in business development and produce proposals.
• Integrate resources to maximize development of BBA’s skills.
• Select personnel to control technical risks with managers.
• Serve as a coach to work teams.

Overview Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
• Twenty years of relevant work experience
• Experience in managing medium to large EPCM and EPC projects in the mining or heavy industry sectors
• Experience managing preliminary studies
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and project control, procurement and construction management teams
• In-depth knowledge of methodology for modern project management
• Efficient time management and decision-making skills
• Ability to maintain collaborative relationships with personnel, clients and suppliers
• Strong negotiation skills
• Advanced level of French and English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec. The frequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending on ongoing projects
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office
• Asset: PMP certification from the Project Management Institute
• Asset: experience with construction sites
• Asset: experience managing international projects
• Asset: experience managing projects carried out in a joint venture or other form of partnership
