About the Job

As a Senior Project Manager in Energy, you'll report directly to the General Manager and lead a high-performing project delivery team within our Energy group based in Niagara Falls, ON. This role offers an opportunity to shape and deliver projects in renewable energy, low-carbon technologies, and landfill gas-to-energy solutions. You'll collaborate with experts in Health & Safety, Environmental Performance, Operations, Sales, and Marketing to bring climate-forward infrastructure projects to life. From developing project scope to delivering on financial performance, your leadership will drive meaningful results for our environment and our future.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop initial project scope, costs, and risks as we identify project opportunities across the company.
  • Review the financial performance of projects regularly with Senior Management and deliver detailed cost reports to the General Manager monthly.
  • Prepare bid packages, oversee tendering and the selection process for subcontractors and trades.
  • Negotiate and review legal contracts in conjunction with the General Manager and legal counsel as needed.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of each project concerning financial, schedule, health & safety, and environmental performance objectives.
  • Coordinate resources and field services to ensure projects are completed on schedule and specifications are met.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, or budget, following established protocols for formal change management.
  • Collaborate with various Walker business units to develop budgets, estimates, and technical solutions for operational issues.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with partners, suppliers, contractors, consultants, clients, and prospects to ensure smooth operations, resolve concerns promptly, and develop future business opportunities.
  • Liaise with municipalities and regulatory agencies to secure permits and approvals.

Heres What You Need

  • P. Eng. in Chemical or Mechanical disciplines with demonstrated core competency.
  • At least 10 years in project management and development, with 5 years focused on renewable energy.
  • 5 years leading cross-functional teams and direct reports.
  • Proven success delivering large-scale energy projects in leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of renewable energy systems, including landfill gas utilization and biogas upgrading.
  • Experience with ASME standards, estimating, scheduling, and contracting in energy-focused construction environments.
