Senior Project Manager - Design & Engineering

Description

As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations to complete projects on time and within budget. This role involves developing strategies for executing large and complex projects, coordinating resources, leading construction projects, mentoring staff and managers, implementing project plans and schedules, and overseeing safety and quality control. You will delegate work to project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead and promote Ledcor safety culture, ensuring safety and environmental standards are integrated into design and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Manage all aspects of risk, including client interactions for complex jobs, especially design-build projects.
• Oversee design efforts, manage Project Managers & Design Managers, and control project costs and budgets.
• Lead subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, negotiations, and manage contracts and change orders.
• Establish large and complex project systems and procedures, including financial and project management systems.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager or in a similar managerial role.
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or related fields.
• Deep understanding of construction documents, drawings, specifications, costs, and budgets.
• Proven contract negotiation and management skills.
• Strong team-building, mentoring, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and presenting ideas.
• Ability to anticipate and resolve constructability issues in complex projects.

Working Conditions:

• This position is hybrid, requiring in-office presence several times a week.
