Job description

As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. In this role, you will develop the strategy for execution of large and complex projects, and coordinate resources to meet operational objectives. You will lead construction projects, mentor project staff, and other managers. You will also implement the project plan and schedule, ensure safety and quality control, and delegate work to project team, contractors, and others.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads and promotes Ledcor safety culture, ensuring safety and environmental standards are incorporated into design and focuses on opportunities for improvement.
  • Leads all aspects of risk management including client interface for complex jobs, including design-build projects.
  • Leads overall design effort, manages Project Managers & Design Managers on design jobs, and oversees project control processes. Manages design costs and budgets on complex projects.
  • Leads all aspects of subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations for complex projects and design-build projects.
  • Negotiates major contracts and change orders.
  • Leads set up of large and complex project systems and procedures, including chart of accounts, cost accounting system, and project directory. Leads management of pursuit costs, including third party costs for engineers.

Qualifications:

  • 8 + years of experience as a Project Manager or in a similar direct managerial / supervisory role.
  • Completed post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering or related discipline
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, current construction practices and methodology; solid understanding of construction costs and budgets
  • Previously demonstrated contract negotiation and management skills, with an in-depth understanding of contract documents
  • Proven ability to build successful teams and promote teamwork through motivating, coaching and consensus-building, skilled in facilitation, mentoring, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, presenting complex ideas, and persuading others to adopt a point of view
  • Ability to anticipate and identify constructability issues in complex situations and develop comprehensive solutions in the design plan and schedule

Working Conditions:

  • This is a hybrid work position where you will be required to be in office multiple times a week
