Johnson Controls Canada seeks a Senior Project Manager for Datacenter Growth to lead enterprise-scale manufacturing initiatives enabling a 5x capacity increase over five years. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving enterprise-level initiatives that enable the business to scale operations by 5x over the next five years, supporting the rapid growth of the Data Center business. During the first year, a primary focus of this role will be establishing world-class material readiness and supply chain execution processes to ensure manufacturing can scale predictably and sustainably. This includes improving supply continuity, supplier performance, inventory strategies, long-lead material planning, and cross-functional readiness across Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Operations. This role requires an operations-savvy, cross-functional leader capable of driving end-to-end execution across Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Lean/Continuous Improvement, HR, Finance, and Talent Acquisition while partnering closely with senior leadership. You will be accountable for project planning, execution, risk mitigation, change control, stakeholder alignment, and value realization while navigating complex environments and aggressive growth objectives.
Lead material readiness planning across all project phases to ensure materials, components, and supplier capacity align with production ramp-up schedules. Establish and drive material readiness reviews, escalation processes, and supply-risk mitigation strategies. Partner with Procurement, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to improve supplier performance, inventory optimization, and long-lead material management. Develop supply chain strategies that support aggressive capacity expansion while maintaining cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Identify and resolve material constraints that could impact project milestones, customer commitments, or operational growth targets. Implement metrics and governance processes that improve forecast accuracy, supply continuity, and operational readiness.
Embed Lean thinking throughout all project phases utilizing Johnson Controls Business System practices. Schedule and lead project kickoff meetings, steering committees, and recurring stakeholder reviews. Provide executive-level project status reports to senior leadership. Administer the complete lifecycle of assigned projects from initiation through close-out. Organize, track, and communicate critical information across operations and manufacturing functions. Manage multiple concurrent priorities and complex cross-functional dependencies. Use analytical, leadership, and change management skills to ensure projects meet objectives while managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk. Lead, coach, mentor, and hold teams accountable for achieving business objectives.
Lead project teams and stakeholders across the business to achieve project objectives and strategic growth priorities. Provide direction, alignment, and accountability for cross-functional deliverables, risks, decisions, and execution plans. Engage deeply within key functions when required while maintaining enterprise-level coordination across all impacted organizations. Resolve barriers, manage competing priorities, and drive timely decision-making to ensure successful project outcomes. Foster collaboration and alignment between Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Finance, HR, and other stakeholders as project requirements evolve.
Develop project charters, integrated schedules, financial models, and risk management plans. Establish governance mechanisms and executive review processes. Manage project scope, schedule, resource allocation, and capital investment adjustments. Drive accountability across all workstreams to ensure milestone achievement.
Build proactive mitigation strategies for schedule, material, supplier, capacity, and execution risks. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities. Maintain disciplined change-control processes across all project phases.
Manage multi-million-dollar capital and operational investment budgets. Track project expenditures, forecasts, variances, and return on investment. Partner with Finance to develop financial models and support strategic investment decisions.
Oversee commissioning, validation, startup, and production ramp-up activities. Ensure readiness across training, quality systems, maintenance programs, supply chain, and manufacturing operations. Drive structured launch and ramp-up plans that achieve growth objectives while maintaining customer commitments.
