SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER / GTA
WSP is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Buildings team in the Greater Toronto Area. The ideal candidate is likely a trained architect or engineer with at least 10 years of experience in rail and transit construction and multi-discipline design project management, and is comfortable in a leadership role.
The Project Manager ensures the success of the assigned projects by harnessing the necessary resources and managing their deployment to achieve our client’s objectives. Prepare proposals, project cost estimates and schedules for construction and design projects
Take ownership of project delivery through all lifecycle phases
Serve as the key point of contact with the Client or on behalf of the Client on all technical and administrative matters
Liaise with project stakeholders and other relevant governing agencies
Manage the project budget, schedule, internal and external stakeholders, and quality
Coordinate the work of contractors, designers, and other suppliers, both internal and external
Review contracts, design drawings and specifications for completeness, constructability, and alignment with project requirements
Resolve project issues through risk identification and mitigation
Perform other tasks that support successful project delivery
Contribute to knowledge transfer by providing functional guidance, peer review and mentoring
Undergraduate Degree or Technologist Certificate in engineering or architecture, or equivalent
Minimum 7 years relevant project management experience in rail and transit and multi-discipline design projects
Strategic, conceptual analytical thinking and decision-making skills
Strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic team player
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Industry designations (PMP or others) are considered assets
Flexibility to work on several projects of varied complexity with minimal supervision in collaboration with multiple supporting elements of the organization
Ability to obtain a security clearance is an asset
