What You’ll Do
- Liaising with clients on multidisciplinary projects
- Ensuring agreements are executed with clients and sub‑consultants
- Preparing and presenting the Project Management Plan (PMP) and updating and distributing it
- Monitoring and controlling scope of work and obtaining approval of scope changes from the client before proceeding
- Controlling costs in accordance with established procedures to ensure project costs stay within budgets
- Reviewing cost/revenue records for compliance with targeted costs and budgets
- Ensuring invoices are issued promptly and correctly
- Creating a Quality Management Plan and conducting quality assurance reviews at appropriate stages of the project
- Assessing, monitoring, reporting and reacting to project risks
- Monitoring communications among all project stakeholders, including client, project team, and regulatory bodies
- Liaising with sub‑consultants to ensure they are aware of scope, schedule, and cost responsibilities and obtain regular status reports
- Reporting status of all projects to the Manager and senior management as required
- Attending project meetings as required
- Preparing correspondences, reports, presentation materials, and other documents
- Mentoring project coordinators and junior/intermediate project managers
Qualifications
- Civil Engineering degree from an accredited post‑secondary institution
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with EGBC
- 15+ years of experience in design, construction, and management
- 8+ years working in consulting
- Strong stakeholder communication and cross‑functional coordination skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience managing municipal infrastructure and multi‑discipline projects, business development in private and public sectors, project management and controls with a proven track record of client delivery and satisfaction, financial success, use of project management software and progress reporting, leading/coaching/mentoring staff, liaising with clients, contractors, and other consultants
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel within Canada as needed
