Job description

CIMA+ is currently seeking applications for a Senior Project Manager for our client-facing project management group in Mississauga, Ontario. As a Senior Project Manager, you will provide advanced project and stakeholder management for complex multidisciplinary construction projects, spanning project inception, planning, design, procurement, and construction oversight through commissioning to project close-out. The role includes reporting on financial and performance results, including schedule, safety, human resources, and other management issues to senior project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact on multi-disciplinary projects and lead a team of professionals (internal and external) assigned to the projects.
  • Provide project delivery expertise and leadership to the client and project teams.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, assessing financial forecasts, schedules, and scope requirements / changes.
  • Be accountable for project financial performance, contract and schedule management, and quality control and assurance.
  • Monitor and control project activities, including forecasting dates, updating hours on tasks, earned value, percentage complete, and resource management / over-allocation.
  • Communicate project progress against the project plan, requirements, quality measures, and milestones, taking appropriate actions to address deviations.
  • Support the development of strategic goals and objectives, identifying required resources, and leading their implementation.
  • Manage proposals, develop technical and financial packages to secure new clients, and develop business relationships with clients.
  • Attend proposal interviews and negotiations with clients over new work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institute.
  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer or Architect in Ontario.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 5 in Canada in a project management leadership role delivering large-scale transit, building, facilities, or healthcare projects.
  • Certification in Project Management, such as PMP, is an asset.
  • Experience across the project life cycle managing design execution and construction oversight is required.
  • Experience with alternative delivery modes like Design-Build, Progressive Design Build, or Integrated Project Delivery is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of working with VP and C-suite levels.
  • Interest in coaching and mentoring junior staff.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in French is an asset.
